Featuring an ELA, Admin area, Freezer and Dry store as four separate entities, TDM worked closely with Apollo to achieve a great outcome. TDM were also engaged by Active Refrigeration to complete the electrical and automation of the cold-store for the project. The refrigeration consisted of an Ammonia based refrigerant and POD based cold-store. Allen Bradley PLC based control with local HMI and Ammonia warning system.

Another example of how TDM can be relied upon for a complete turn-key service.

To support the growing population, Selwyn District Council set out to create a new indoor sports facility that would serve its people, now and in the future. Apollo was delighted at the opportunity to design and build this stunning 8000m² facility which includes:

Eight indoor courts – four with a specialised synthetic surface for multi-use and the other four with high-performance sprung timber flooring.
240-metre jogging tracks on the mezzanine level.

Multipurpose rooms with kitchen facilities, spin-bike room, change facilities (both indoor and outdoor) and two premier football rooms.
NZ’s first Lu Uno interactive playground wall turns the facility into an immersive video game through lights, sounds, and videos.

Christchurch Netball Centre at Ngā Puna Wai

Friday, March 8th, 2024

After over 100 years of netball at Christchurch’s Hagley Park Courts, the Christchurch Netball Centre will become the new home for Christchurch Netball. The 10,050mfacility located at Ngā Puna Wai will be used as a multisport arena. The purpose-built facility accommodates for netball, volleyball, futsal, korfball, and gymnastics whilst fostering sports diversity and community activity. The $15m centre has exceeded all client expectations. After initially thinking only 8 courts were going to be possible within their budget Apollo delivered 10 courts under the same budget through the design and build delivery process. Collaboration across the council and netball centre was outstanding, and we couldn’t be happier with the result. With a construction timeline of just over a year, the project has been delivered rapidly and without any holdups to ensure our future sporting generations can take advantage of this amazing facility sooner.

The centre will become the new meeting hub for the canterbury sporting community and ties the historical and cultural significance of the area with the present. Ngā Puna Wai, meaning “many springs water” holds great value for Ngāi Tahu, and historically the location was a meeting place for Māori to connect and collaborate. The centre unites people from all parts of the city and wider community and plays a vital role in overall community well-being.
